Two People

People in love
Give me something to dream of
It’s all new
I never took these risks until there was you
And I’d like to see what it’s like to be
Two people in love
With a dash of trust
And maybe some good old fairy dust
I will vow
To be your other half the best I know how
I’d like to be forever you and me
Two people in love
Two people in love
What can I say
You had my heart from the first day
And I’ll admit
When it comes to you I’m always in
Yeah I’d like to be what everyone else wants to be
Two people in love
Two people in love

You were my other half, in the worst of ways
Opposites attract but don’t behave
Right from the start we were a losing game
But we took a risk all the same
My heart it aches, it breaks, it’s longing
Reaching out to you
But you’re in someone else’s arms now
What can I do?
I can’t have you
I thought you were the one, despite all odds
Gambled with my heart, we were never in the cards
All or nothing, there is no one left to blame
I took a risk, now I’m not the same
My heart it aches, it breaks, it’s longing
Reaching out to you
But you’re in someone else’s arms now
What can I do?
I can’t have you

Dandelions
04:46
|
|||
I remember being young
And having fun
Pretending to be older than I was
Oh I just couldn’t wait to grow up
Now I reminisce about backyard slides
Orange slices for smiles
And picking yellow dandelions for my mom
To put in a vase
I look back on those days
And I wish I hadn’t wished them away
I am thankful for what I had then and all I have now
As the years go by,
I remind myself to wish for time to stay
Everything moves faster than light
Well, maybe not
But that’s sure what it feels like
Most of the time
But I’ve heard there’s an art in finding joy
In every small part of the daily moments of our lives
Simplicity passes us by
I’ll look back on these days
And I’ll wish I hadn’t wished them away
I’ll be thankful for what I had then and all I have now
As the years go by,
I’ll remind myself to wish for time to stay

Sweet Goodbye
04:04
|
|||
Caught you looking sideways
Hoping to catch my gaze
Standing in the crowded room
I’m not here for something new
Tangled up in thinking
Everything is closing in
Standing in this crowded room
I’m not looking for someone like you
We are just two strangers
And that’s not going to change
Oh
I don’t have to tell you
Exactly what you wanna hear
I don’t even know you
And you’ll never know me
I don’t have to tell you
Exactly what you wanna hear
I don’t even know you
And you’ll never know me
No you’ll never know me
Everything that could’ve been
Everything that never was
Do not pressure me to feel
What you’re trying to impart
No one even led you on
So I don’t need a show / so no need for a show
It’s about time you know
Exactly where you stand
We are still two strangers
And that’s never going to change
Oh
I don’t have to tell you
Exactly what you wanna hear
I don’t even know you
And you’ll never know me
I don’t have to tell you
Exactly what you wanna hear
I don’t even know you
And you’ll never know me
No you’ll never know me
So say your sweet goodbyes to the girl you never had
I never wanted more than that
